Description:
Anixter is seeking to add an Auditor to our corporate headquarter team in Chicago, IL. This individual will be responsible for internal audits on a worldwide basis. The successful candidate will identify and assess internal and external risks to business objectives, serve as team lead or member on field engagements, and partner with and consult to mgmt. Our team demonstrates dedication to our role through collaboration and information sharing, thinking and problem-solving in new and complex ways, and challenging status quo around company risk and control.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced candidate with strong analytical, communication, project mgmt and interpersonal skills who is interested in taking on new challenges in a progressive audit organization.
Key job responsibilities:
* Build and maintain positive, productive relationships
* Coach, educate and consult management on risk and control and best practices
* Actively partner with management during engagements and on-going through informal liaison relationships
* Communicate clearly, professionally and effectively, both written and verbal
* Participate in enterprise risk assessments and audit planning
* Develop micro risk assessments
* Plan, scope and execute audit engagements
* Perform audits including strategic, financial, operational and compliance risk elements
* Analyze and define control issue root cause
* Provide positive assurance as well as identify control issues
* Prepare clear, concise and accurate workpapers and reports
* Follow up on corrective actions
* Participate in investigations
* Support external audit testing requirements, including SOX
* Develop self--continuously learn and grow
* Stay current on latest audit and personal discipline fields
* Continuously improve internal audit processes
Minimum required qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, IT or other discipline with a control focus
* 3-5 years of progressively responsible internal audit experience
* Broad understanding of business functions and processes
* Working knowledge of internal control structure (e.g., COSO, COBIT) and audit standards (e.g. IIA, ISACA)
* Demonstrated interpersonal skills
* Proven analytical ability and established problem-solving skills
* Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines while ensuring quality results
* Proficient written and verbal communication skills
* Adept at working on teams or independently
* Demonstrated integrity and work ethic
* Ability and desire to travel domestically and internationally
Additional desired qualifications:
* CPA, CIA, CCSA, CFE, CISA, CISSP or related certification
* SOX experience
* Knowledge of data extraction and analysis, computer assisted analysis tools (CAATS) such as ACL
* Knowledge of International Finance Reporting Standards
